Widening the Base of Peace Promoters in Kamwenge.

In a bide to strengthen community engagement on actions to prevent and manege conflicts,HR Violations,promote peaceful co-existence on a more wider space in Kamwenge, KALI facilitated 30 members of each of the 10 CBOs to reach out to 10 citizens who will become peaceful co-existence community promoters through MDD, interface meetings and sharing of testimonies on conflict prevention and human rights promotion. 303 (M=129, F=173) CBO members were facilitated to reach out to 10 citizens each. This was done at group level to strengthen their cohesion for sustainability purposes. Expected result is an increased level of activism among women, youth, PWDs PLHAs groups and other persons vulnerable to violence to 3000. three hundred from each of the 10 group, prevent and manage conflicts and defend human rights Violations  in Kamwenge District.

The activity aimed at increasing the number of peaceful co-existence community promoters among women, youth, PWDs, PLHAs & Faith Based Organization in Kamwenge.

Despite of the over expectation by participants,  This was mitigated through guiding that the 10 citizens reached by every member is not a standalone activity but main-streaming it in their day-to day activities as individuals. The FPAs were advised to keep follow up on the CBO members for progress on citizens reached to increase the number of peace promoters in their communities.
